In the 1870s it was radically altered with the floor being lowered and the entrance changed. It was redecorated in the pre-Raphaelite style and boasts impressive William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones designs. Today it continues to be used for occasional services, evensong and organ practice.

Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious,
be with those who care for the sick,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may find comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
In Christ Jesus our Lord.

When the House was open, over 100 prayers were left each week in the Prayer Box in the Chapel. Those prayers were regularly prayed by our Chaplain, Revd. Douglas Robertson.
Even though the Chapel is currently closed, along with the rest of the House, the Chapel remains a place of prayer and we would like to offer you the opportunity to submit prayers to be prayed in the Chapel. Submitted prayers would be prayed each week in the Chapel by our Chaplain.
If you wish to submit prayers please email dlrobertson@btinternet.com. Prayers can simply state 'Please pray for...' Your anonymity will be respected, and for reasons of confidentiality, if you wish for the Chaplain to pray for an individual please only state the individual's first name.
